Southern Waverley

Below you can see the Green candidates standing for election in your area.

Farnham Central – Fiona Scimone

Fiona Scimone

I’m an artist, forest school practitioner and baker/co-founder of St.Mary’s sourdough bakery. I’ve lived in this area most of my life, studying & teaching at Farnham Art School (UCA), following in the footsteps of my grandmother.

I’m keen to support initiatives that build a strong sense of community & well-being, sustainable energy production, less waste & plastic packaging, local food growing schemes, clean air, healthy soil under our feet and ensuring strong protection for wildlife & green spaces. I want to encourage small independent businesses drawing on Farnham’s roots as a craft town.

Farnham North – David Beynon

David Beynon

Dave has been a resident of Folly Hill in Farnham since 2013 and is a father of two. He heads up the global digital team at a locally-based charity and wants to conserve our environment and increase transparency and oversight within our council.

Waverley Western Villages – Susan Ryland

Susan Ryland

I am committed to securing a more equal, democratic and sustainable future for our citizens. I want to retain a united Britain with close links to our European neighbours. I oppose the so-called ‘hard’ Brexit. I wholeheartedly support the Green Party's recognition that for a sustainable future we need 'a healthy interdependence of individual, nature and society'. I am committed to ensuring we meet our climate change obligations, cease fracking and fossil fuel extraction and encourage micro energy generation and distribution. I am committed to building infrastructures that encourage safe cycling, walking and clean transport and the creation of carbon neutral social housing. I support a properly funded and publicly provided National Health Service, run for the public good and not for private profit and ensuring that we have enough trained doctors, nurses and GPs to meet increasing demand. I am committed to investing in education, research and seeking a more sustainable economic structure.
