Blackwater Valley Green Party are hard at work all year round - delivering leaflets, sweating over press releases and navigating crumbling basement staircases as they canvass for support in the forthcoming elections. And this is work that should produce results, but hard labour, great representatives, and policies to tackle climate change, social injustice and the protection of animals and nature are not enough - we also needs funding to deliver our message effectively.
The Green Party does not receive big corporate donations or Trade Union support. It depends entirely on the generosity of its members and supporters.
Our main costs are printing – for example an A4 newsletter to 4000 households (printed on recycled paper) costs £125. It costs £20 to print 100 glowing green window posters and £1,000 to rent a shop for the election period.ly on the generosity of its members and supporters., which allow us to continue campaigning for a better, greener and fairer Blackwater Valley region.
YOUR CASH could be the contribution that takes us over the line. You can do that easily and simply by sending a cheque to the address above. In order to comply with election law, you need to be on the electoral register and to give us your name and address.
We also need more volunteers out speaking to residents and delivering our newsletters, to make sure we get the Green Party's message across to every voter.
For more information of ways you can help, please see our Get Involved page.
If you feel you can contribute in any way, we would love to hear from you.
If you would like to support the Green Party’s work in Surrey, please write a cheque to ‘BLACKWATER VALLEY GREEN PARTY’ and send it to Treasurer Peter Barnett, 13 Wickham Road, Camberley GU15 4EU.
